Ministry Plans
We will be part of a church-planting team in the Tumbaco Valley, which is a rapidly growing suburb of Q
uito, Ecuador.
It's largely a middle-income area, and the town we'll be living in is called Cumbaya.
Our goal is to plant a culturally relevant church, train Ecuadorian leaders, and then allow them to take the leadership. We believe that a mature, biblical church is one that is reproducing itself, and we pray that God will help us train the leadership of the church to go and make disciples so that they can continue the church-planting process on their own.
We also plan t
o be involved in several ministries that will be facilitated through the local church. While it's still too early to decide exactly what those will be, some of the ideas in our vision statement are things like deaf ministry, crisis pregnancy outreach and counseling, orphanage work, a Bible Institute where leaders can be trained, and Christian youth camp and sports ministries, to name a few.
We believe in a team approach to ministry, and as such we are praying for more team members to join us in the work. Other ministries such as an MK school and possibly a guest house ministry are possible in the future to help facilitate the w
ork throughout Ecuador.
We realize that there's a long road ahead of us, and that there will be many obstacles to face that we haven't even dreamed of yet. But we're confident that God's purpose will be accomplished - He's the One who is doing the work through us, we're just the tools! Please pray that God would draw Ecuadorians to Himself through our ministry there.
